Gargus Wood Floors
INSTALLATION

Wood floor installation

Wood flooring installation or complete replacement. Laminate, wood, or stone. George W. Gargus III has been putting floors down in Ashland, Medford, Jacksonville and the rest of Southern Oregon for over 35 years.

The work

New floors and complete replacements

New construction, a remodel, or the floor you have now pulled up and started over. Both are on the service list the same way: wood flooring installation or complete replacement.

The subfloor gets checked and prepped first. The wood sits in the room so it settles to the humidity it will live in.

Then it is laid, sanded and finished onsite.

Patterns

Custom patterns, cut and laid onsite

“Specializing in custom wood floors herringbone white plank also custom tile work and staircases.”

  • Herringbone
  • Chevron
  • Parquet
  • White plank
  • Wide plank
  • Inlay borders

Herringbone and white plank are the two he is known for. Wide plank runs the other way — broad boards, fewer joints.

A pattern floor takes longer to lay than a straight one, because every piece is cut to fit. Say which you are after when you call and it goes into the estimate.

Borders and inlay

Parquet fields with an inlay border

A border is a dark strip of wood run around the outside of the room, framing the field in the middle.

It follows the walls, turns the corners and carries through the doorway, so the entry and the room read as one floor.

Other materials

Laminate, wood, or stone

Not every floor has to be hardwood. Laminate goes into rooms where the budget or the traffic calls for it. Stone and tile go into bathrooms, entries and anywhere water is a factor.

See tile & stone for ceramic, porcelain and natural stone, and stairs for treads to match a new floor.

If the floor you have is mostly sound, repair may cost less than replacing all of it. Ask when he comes out.
